IEC 60502 for extruding insulated power cables and accessories.
IEC 60331 for flame retardant cable
IEC 60332 for fire resistant cable
DESCRIPTION
This specification covers single core cables and three core armored or unarmored cables, rated at 1.9/3.6KV and conformed to IEC 60502-1, IEC60331 & IEC 60332.
CONSTRUCTION
1. Conductor
Plain, annealed electrolytic copper or Aluminum conductors, circular stranded, conforming to the applicable requirements of IEC 60228.
2. Insulation
XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) rated 90℃, 105℃, 125℃, 135℃.
3. Colours for core identification
Single core –natural Optional colours
Three cores- red, yellow and blue Single core- natural
Three cores- brown, black and grey
4. Assembly
Three insulated conductors are laid up together, if necessary, filled with non-hygroscopic material compatible with insulation and covered with layer of PVC bedding which may be an integral part of the filling
5. Armor
Single core- Aluminum wire shall be applied over the PVC bedding
Multi-core- Galvanized steel wire shall be applied over the PVC bedding.
6. Sheath
PVC or PO (Halogen free or fire retardant compound on special request), thermoplastic material conforming to IEC 60502-1.

These cables are most suitable for underground burial where there is a risk of mechanical damage.
